Ecobrix is designed to be manageable by first-time self-builders. Simple to learn, fast to build, and producing homes that are thermally exceptional - without requiring specialist trades.
The Ecobrix system is straightforward. You don't need bricklaying experience. You don't need specialist equipment. You need to be able to follow a sequence - which we'll teach you.
Ecobrix works with any standard foundation type. The first course of blocks is laid directly onto the foundation slab up to DPC level, set out precisely to your floor plan. This is your only critical accuracy stage - everything above follows from it.
Ecobrix blocks are dry-stacked - no mortar, no levelling compounds, no specialist equipment. The blocks interlock and their own weight provides stability throughout the build. Works in all weathers, including below 0°C. Course by course, your walls take shape fast.
Once walls are stacked to the required height and reinforcing steel placed, a low-slump ready-mix concrete is poured to fill the hollow cores. The mix can be placed at temperatures that would halt traditional brick-laying. The concrete sets and the structure is complete.
Ecobrix accepts all standard external finishes - render, brick slip, brick, timber cladding, rain screen cladding. Chasing for electrics and plumbing is fast with a powered circular saw. All flooring systems and internal finishes are fully compatible.
We offer free training days at our facility, giving you face-to-face demonstrations, hands-on practice, and direct access to our technical team. You'll leave confident to manage your own build.
Training is suitable for complete beginners through to experienced contractors looking to add Ecobrix to their toolkit.
